Extension to Benton Kitchens
A new factory and salesroom was created for
Benton Kitchens by extending the existing
steel frame outwards and upwards to create
the feature curved roof. Utilising the
existing frame enabled the factory to remain
operational throughout the works.

New Auto Safety Centre
This steel framed building incorporates a
two storey glazed screen to display an
actual size replica of a formula one racing
car that hangs from the structure. Despite
most buildings in this part of Weston super
Mare being constructed off piled foundations,
a flexible reinforced concrete raft
foundation proved most cost effective in
this instance.

New Refuse Transfer Station
This steel portal framed structure is
supported on piled foundations. A high
strength 90N concrete was used for the
suspended ground floor slab and high
perimeter retaining walls to resist
abrasion caused by the use of the
loading shovel.

Block making plant at Shipham Quarry
The new block making building comprises
a refurbished quarry building. Alterations
included raising the roof by strengthening
and extending the side columns and reusing
the original rafters. Other work comprised
the design of foundations for 3 No. 40tonne
cement silos on filled ground and a 7m high
retaining wall using Stowell Concrete patented
"Macro Block".
