Sewage Tank at Sander's Garden World
To improve the sewage disposal system at Sander's
Garden World a 39,000 litre proprietary GRP tank
was installed below ground at the site. Robust
temporary works were required to maintain an open
excavation within the upper layers of the soft
alluvium deposits in the area and the tank was
provided with sufficient concrete encasement to
resist buoyancy when empty and a flanged top to
prevent sinking when full.

Infrastructure for New Housing Development
Section 106 of the planning agreement to develop
land for housing in Taunton required the developer
to upgrade sections of the existing public highway
in the vicinity of the development. DEA were
employed to produce construction details for a
new bellmouth entrance to the site, new bus laybys,
new toucan crossing and new links to the existing
cycle network. Within the site itself DEA detailed
the new roads and sewers to serve the development,
which have now been adopted by the relevant authorities.
